CHURCH WOMEN UNITED
(CWU)
May Friendship day with continental breakfast will be Friday, May 2,
9:00 am at
St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 4703 N. 50 W, W. Lafayette
(N. Salisbury-County Rd 50). The cost is $3.00. CWU Food Pantry
Volunteers will be honored.
This
year’s theme of Hospitality includes celebrating the Fellowship of the
Least Coin and presenting the yearly Valiant Woman Award. This is an
annual event that unites Protestant, Roman Catholic, Orthodox and other
Christian women in a common worship experience building and
strengthening friendly relationships within our community.
Our donations for school kits will be taken to this meeting. Please
leave your items at the church.
All meetings are
held in the church basement. Please call Phyllis Hill or Kathy
Deckard if you need a ride to the meeting. Child care will be provided,
if needed.
Please contact Phyllis Hill to arrange for child care.

There will be a catered brunch featuring chicken salad on croissant
& quiche.
with complimentary sides and beverages. Brunch will be followed
by the Comedy Readers from the Civic Theater..
The cost per meal will be $7.00 for adults, and $4.00 per children
under 12.

We invite you to our Meetings
(most are on the 2nd
Wednesday of the month) where we
will
have Bible
Study,
good
fellowship and lots of
fun.
Child care
will be provided. Please contact Phyllis Hill if you
need a ride.
Our Coordinating Team Meetings are on the first Wednesday of
most months
at
6 pm.
Anyone can attend these meetings
where most of our planning takes place.
We urge you to help us save stamps
of any kind (even canceled), except current, common stamps.
The stamps are sent to a Community Volunteer Center in Goshen,
Indiana, to be sold for fund-raising for Heifer Project,
International.
At each Meeting we will
collect a Sacrificial Offering to be used for World-Wide
Mission Pledge. Our members
also
save pennies to be sent to
the Hunger Fund of PCUSA to help drill wells wherever fresh water is
needed in disadvantaged countries. These are collected and
dedicated at the meeting in November.
We will continue to collect used eye
glasses to be used by the Lions Club to help needy people see
better.
Pop tabs are also being
collected for to benefit children undergoing kidney dialysis.
Campbell’s Soup Labels are
collected to help area schools, as well as
“Box
Tops for Education”.
Used
printer cartridges are taken to LUM
and turned into $$ for
their programs.

Congratulation to Mae Whitlock and Sarah Norris
who were recognized for their hard work and dedication in
serving as Moderators of the DPW since 1995, and will also receive The
Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership Award.
