PRESBYTERIAN 2009 HABITAT HOUSE: READY-SET-GO! Local Presbyterian Churches are ready to start construction in August 7 @ 8:00 am, and Dayton Presbyterian is scheduled to initiate the project that day. WE NEED YOU to help us get a good start. That day we will start framing using prefabricated walls. By that day the sub floor will be in place. The plan calls for the house to be tar paper roof by Saturday evening, 8-8, This schedule calls for us to get a good start on Friday. We can use a lot of help and especially help from experienced and less experienced “framers”. Of Course we can also use good lunch & refreshments on that day. If you can help with any of this work, please sign up for Friday, 8-7. A sign up sheet is posted in the church lobby. As well as your help with construction, we still need about $6,000 to meet our 2009 goal of $46,000 (including tithe for Habitat International). Again, your help is much appreciated. The 2009 Presbyterian Habitat House will be built @ 1617 N. 16th Street in Lafayette and is expected to take about 8 weeks for construction. Dayton Pres will also be expected to help out on a later date with identified work to be announced. By the end of the year our Local HFH chapter is expected to have built over 185 houses locally and, of course several houses outside the country. Our 2009 Presbyterian House family is a single dad with 2 children. This father is a cook at Appleby’s and will soon complete his sweat equity contribution and HFH home owner instruction that is required for home ownership. We really need your help with construction, refreshments or meals. For this project the committee decided that each Presbyterian Church will work individually on each workday. So Dayton Pres will for the most part be working on our own. If you can help, please sign up to help get a good August 7th start on the 2009 house. Many hands make lighter work for us all.
